Shipping containers require relatively little maintenance; the steel work of a container will deteriorate much more slowly because the age of the steel and the paint job; you can realistically expect a 50-year lifespan. The door hinges and locking bars may require oiling every couple of years.

Most used containers require the some attention to the doors and also there may be small dents or corroded areas that may need repainting from time to time and possibly even a patch welded on. Painting a shipping container to maintain appearance is quite common.

All new and used containers will be waterproof and come with a product guarantee.

However, some very old at other locations (sold in “As-Is” condition) may have holes or irregular damage such as damaged corner posts. These are priced very low & accordingly, but are not guaranteed to be wind and watertight.

Good reviews, good customer service, good quality product, a visit to their yard. Ask questions about where they get their containers and what condition they are in. You want to know that the container you are purchasing will hold up under harsh weather or transportation and keep your valuables safe and secure. Are the containers food grade or what have they been carrying?

Of course yes! Feel free to come to our yard, scheduled or unscheduled to see our vast range of shipping containers, and inspect and select a container of your choice. The surface where you want your container delivered should be a solid and as level as possible. Delivery can be made on a variety of surfaces including: concrete, asphalt and even grass and dirt so long as they are firm and compacted. Concrete Pillars are most ideal though and highly recommended.

It is best to place a container on a level dry surface such as concrete, asphalt, or a compact dried grass area. On the other hand, a damp, soft and uneven surface is the worst type of surface. It is most important that the surface is level so that the doors open and close correctly. The weight of a shipping container is borne through its corners and therefore spacers such as paving stones or railroad ties (pressure treated wood) can be placed under the corners to level the container even on uneven ground.

Yes. So long as you have accessible roads and a proper place to offload/place the container, we can deliver.

Weather greatly affects container deliveries. It is possible to receive a container in rainy or wet conditions. However, please note that both you and the driver need to ensure that the ground is firm enough for the truck to drive on and drop the container. Please also be aware the container transportation moves much slower during harsh weather.

So long as your site has the space, we can deliver two 20FT containers on one single 40’ truck. There is typically a small fee for this type of delivery due to the amount of time and effort it takes to offload two containers.

Containers are generally delivered using either a flatbed truck, or alternatively a crane truck self-loader trucks if the delivery location has no offloading facilities. We can arrange for either method of delivery.

A Reefer is an abbreviation of a Refrigerated Container. Reefers are generally ‘big fridges’’ that are used to transport temperature controlled cargo such as perishable goods e.g. fruits, meat, fish, seafood, vegetables, dairy and also non-food products such as flowers, pharmaceuticals and film across oceans or long distances, they can also be used for on-site storage.

Reefers are also available in two sizes, 20FT and 40FT, and they run on three phase electrical power and can keep cargo at a consistent temperature ranging between -30°C and +30°C. On ships and on-site reefers are connected to the mains supply, but during ground transportation, Reefer have to be connected to a specialised Genset for continuous supply of electricity. Containers Kenya supplies both Reefers and Genset.
